Pocahontas State Park boasts four three-bedroom cabins, each equipped with a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. These cabins feature a covered porch on the front and back, rocking chairs, and a picturesque view of the water. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom, making it easy to prepare meals and maintain your daily routine.

The cabins can accommodate up to 16 people, making them an ideal choice for larger groups or families. During the peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), there is a six-night minimum stay, which is reduced to four nights three months before arrival and two nights in the last month before arrival. For the rest of the year, a two-night minimum stay is required.

Pets are allowed in the cabins, but a fee of $10 per pet per night applies. Check-in is at 4 p.m., and check-out is at 10 a.m. Reservations can be made online or by calling 1-800-933-PARK, and cabins are available for booking up to 11 months in advance.

In addition to the cabins, Pocahontas State Park offers four yurts located in the main campground. These unique accommodations feature a large wooden deck with patio tables, a picnic table, and a fire ring with a cooking grate, providing a cozy and immersive outdoor experience.

Each yurt can accommodate up to 4 people, and a two-night minimum stay is required. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the yurts. Check-in is at 4 p.m., and check-out is at 10 a.m. Reservations are necessary and can be made online or by calling 1-800-933-PARK.

Campsites at Pocahontas State Park

For those who prefer a more traditional camping experience, Pocahontas State Park offers 111 campsites for RVs up to 40 feet. Each site is equipped with electric and water hookups, with most sites having 20- and 30-amp electrical service, and some offering 50-amp service.

Pets are allowed in the camping areas, but they are not permitted in picnic shelters, activity buildings, or restrooms. The camping fee is $35 per night for Virginia residents and $40 per night for non-residents.

Additional Information

It’s important to note that from February 15 to April 30, there is a burn ban in effect from midnight to 4 p.m. unless a camp host is on-site. Additionally, quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and only overnight guests are allowed in the park after 10 p.m.
