Camping reservations at Starved Rock State Park can be made up to 6 months in advance and are required. Reservations can be made online through the ExploreMoreILâ„¢ platform or by calling 866-716-6550. Cancellations must be made through the same channels, but the reservation fee will not be transferred or refunded.

The campground has a maximum capacity of 1 family (2 parents and their minor children) or 4 adults per site, with 2 tents or 1 RV and 1 tent allowed. Extra vehicles must park in the small lot at the entrance of the campground.

Campground Amenities

The Starved Rock State Park campground offers a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable and convenient camping experience. Water hydrants, porta potties, and two separate shower houses with flush toilets are located throughout the campground. A dump station and trash containers can be found upon entering and exiting the campground.

Seasonal Availability

The campground is open all year round, but the East Loop is closed from November 15th or the second Sunday in November through April 1st. The West Loop, however, remains open all year round. It’s important to note that the campground fills up quickly, especially on weekends from May through October, so it’s highly recommended to make your reservations 6 months in advance.
