The Pocahontas State Park Lodge is a six-bedroom, timber-frame structure that can accommodate up to 16 guests. It features three bathrooms, including one that is universally accessible, and various sleeping arrangements, including queen-size beds, twin beds, and bunk beds.
The lodge is simply furnished and includes a kitchen equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, oven, dishes, cooking utensils, silverware, and glassware. However, guests must bring their own linens.
For those traveling with pets, the lodge is pet-friendly, with a fee of $10 per pet, per night. Additionally, the lodge has a cozy fireplace, adding to the overall ambiance.
Reservation Policies and Cancellation Fees
Reservations for the Pocahontas State Park Lodge can be made up to 11 months in advance. During the peak season, between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day, a six-night minimum stay is required, which reduces to a four-night stay three months out and a two-night stay in the last month before arrival. For the rest of the year, a two-night minimum stay is required.
Check-in time is 4 p.m., and check-out time is 10 a.m. The park’s website or a call to 1-800-933-PARK can provide details on the cancellation and transfer policies, which include fees for changes.

Additional Information
Guests should register at the Contact Station near the Main Office at the entrance off of Route 655 (Beach Rd) to access the Pocahontas State Park Lodge. It’s important to note that from February 15 through April 30, a burn ban is in effect from midnight to 4 p.m., with no open fires allowed until after 4 p.m. unless a camp host is on-site.
