Primarily using mules for their sure-footedness on the trails, the two-hour ride takes visitors on a historical journey along the wagon road, offering stunning views of the Wawona Hotel, Wawona Meadow Loop, a former Miwok encampment, Wawona Dome, and the surrounding lush forest.

Age and Weight Restrictions

At Wawona Stable, children must be at least 7 years old, weigh at least 55 pounds, and be at least 52″ tall to participate in horseback riding. The maximum rider weight is 225 lbs.

Wawona Stable offers gentle horse rides around the corral for individuals with special needs, after consultation with their staff.

Horse Boarding and Dog Kennel

Horse boarding is available at the Yosemite Valley Stable, but it is closed for the 2024 season. Reservations are highly recommended due to limited space, and specific documentation is required.

The Dog Kennel is available at Yosemite Valley Stable from June to September. Advance reservations are highly recommended, and the cost is $10/daily and $20/overnight per dog.
